Qantas announced it will fly the entire audience of The Oprah Winfrey Show to Australia in December.
Lucky 400 people or so will fly for free to Australia in a promotion paid by Qantas. It will definitely boost Qantas and Australia tourism worldwide. Speaking at a media conference in Sydney, Qantas Chief Executive Officer Mr Alan Joyce said this was a fantastic opportunity for Qantas and the Australian tourism industry.
Qantas Ambassador-at-Large and Hollywood superstar, Mr John Travolta, joined Ms Winfrey on her season premiere episode to make the surprise announcement to the audience. Mr Travolta said he was thrilled that Ms Winfrey's audience will fly to Australia with Qantas.
Qantas operates up to 45 return services from the US to Australia per week, and offers the only daily A380 service from Los Angeles, LAX to Sydney, along with A380 services three times per week from Los Angeles, LAX to Melbourne (increasing to daily on delivery of the tenth A380 from Airbus).
